School Funding Schemes
In the 2018–19 Budget, the Government allocated HK$3 billion to the Quality Education Fund, allowing primary and secondary schools, special schools, and kindergartens participating in the new kindergarten education scheme to apply for funding through a simplified procedure. The funding can be used for school-based curriculum design, student support measures, as well as related school premises improvement and procurement of materials. All publicly funded schools are eligible to apply, and approved projects can also be viewed for reference.

The Quality Education Fund covers a wide range of educational development areas, including enhancing student learning outcomes, promoting innovative teaching approaches, strengthening language and STEAM education, supporting whole-person development and values education, and improving the school learning environment and facilities. The Fund encourages schools to implement creative and sustainable projects that enhance the quality of teaching and learning, enabling students to achieve balanced development in knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
