Promoting STEAM Education

The Life-wide Learning Grant and Sister School Scheme Grant(formerly known as the Life-wide Learning Grant) is a recurrent subsidy provided by the Education Bureau of Hong Kong to support schools in promoting STEAM education. Schools may flexibly use this class-based funding allocation — approximately $44,844 per class for secondary schools and $26,691 per class for primary schools — to purchase innovation and technology teaching materials, subscribe to educational applications, or organise STEAM learning days and educational visits.

The Life-wide Learning Grant and Sister School Scheme Grant mainly supports the following types of learning activities:

Experiential learning initiatives, including local visits, outdoor learning camps, and school exchange activities
Cross-curricular learning initiatives, such as STEAM programmes and innovative educational practices like AI applications
Activities related to moral education, civic education, and national identity education
